Izkušnja in utrip mesta
Vsakič, ko me vprašajo, kako mi je bilo na Erasmus izmenjavi, je moj odgovor vedno: “Zdaj bi se vrnila tja!”
Moj Erasmus se je začel precej zgodaj, že 13. avgusta 2020 sem prišla v Horsens, kjer sem od 17. avgusta obiskovala VIA Univesity kot izmenjavo za 4. letnik. V VIA-i je vsak predmet razdeljen na danski in mednarodni razred, tako da sem bila v mednarodnem razredu za Architectural design and Construction menagement. V razredu je bilo okoli 30 ljudi z vsega sveta, od tega 10 Erasmus študentov.
Fakulteta ima precej drugačen način dela kot naša fakulteta. Obstaja en glavni projekt na semester, na katerem se dela 5 različnih predmetov. Projekti potekajo v skupinah po 3-5 ljudi in so organizirani na način, ki je čim bolj podoben načinu, ki ga bomo srečevali v prihodnosti, kar je ena od stvari, ki me je najbolj navdušila. Poleg glavnega projekta smo imeli še dva izbirna predmeta na semester.
Horsens je majhno mesto, ki se nahaja na vzhodni obali polotoka Jutland. Danska je zelo dobro povezana z vlaki, tako da lahko iz Horsensa v pol ure pridete do Aarhusa, Vejleja, Billunda (Legoland!) … VIA kampus je ena glavnih stvari mesta, zato je mesto študentsko- usmerjeno. Kampus je od centra mesta oddaljen 20 minut hoje, leta 2021 so se preselili v nov kampus na drugem koncu mesta, a je od centra oddaljen tudi 20 minut. Ima več velikih parkov in “Zeleno plažo”, ki je spomladi in poleti glavno zbirališče mladih. Uspelo mi je obiskati veliko delov Danske in Švedsko, v druge države zaradi omejitev Covida nisem mogla.
Pred odhodom sem imel veliko težav pri iskanju sobe, ker me ni bilo, niti nisem mogel videti sobe v živo. Na koncu mi je uspelo dobiti sobo v eni študentski hiši, kjer sem imela svojo sobo, vse ostalo pa sem si delila s tremi drugimi študenti. Imela sem neverjetno srečo, ker sta bila ta hiša in moji cimri ena izmed najboljših stvari v moji izmenjavi. Danska je precej draga država, zato je bila cena sobe, tako v zasebnih namestitvah kot v domovih, enaka višini Erasmus štipendije.
Kljub razmeram s Covidom je celoten prvi semester potekal v živo, prav tako izpiti. Medtem ko se je od januarja 2021 stanje precej poslabšalo in tako smo drugi semester delali večinoma na spletu, čeprav smo uspeli organizirati skupno delo na projektu v živo s skupino. Konec maja smo se lahko vrnili na fakulteto in izpiti so spet potekali v živo.
Spoznavanje novega načina dela, kulture, drugačnih pogledov na arhitekturo, novih poznanstev, prijateljev z vsega sveta, je le del te neverjetne izkušnje, ki mi jo je omogočila izmenjava Erasmus. To je priložnost, ki jo vsekakor priporočam vsem, da jo čim prej zgrabite.

SUSTAINABLE REFURBISHMENT TO ENERGY RENOVATION

Horsens Social Housing association wish to execute sustainable refurbishment to energy renovation of first residential building in Horsens, Østerled 3a-3b.
Existing conditions on the site consists of seven residential blocks, parking and an area with vegetation. The residential complex is dated in 1950 from a traditional brickwork and contains a basement level, a ground floor plus two floors and attic. Building area is 1235 m2.
The main goal is to do a sustainable refurbishment in order to meet the requirements in BR18.The energy consumption should be reduced to energy renovation class 1.
To meet client’s requirements blocks consisted of a mix of 1-, 2-and 3-bedrooms apartments, which were designed to support social diversity in the area, in other words they were suitable for both singles, couples, families, elderly, disabled, young, children etc. All apartments were extended in the living area, as well as the balcony. New extensions were made of a light weight steel system as infill and they were insulated and heated. The living room and kitchen in the apartments are assembled into one kitchen/family room, along with the kitchen, toilet and bath have been upgraded to contemporary (modern) standards. New extensions for the main entrances and an elevator were made. An elevator was incorporated into the project with access to the basement and 50% of the apartments in all levels.
To fix energy consumption, an outer layer of the building insulation was added as well as new brick cladding. Renovation also included new floor finishes in apartments and staircases, update of the roof structure with new dormers, new insulation on the staircases, basement refurbishment, replacement of existing windows and new windows, new doors, new internal sewage installations and replacement of sewage pipes, new electrical installations and new water and heating installations.
The project was done in five phases: Registration, Outline phase, Project proposal, Regulatory phase and Tender phase in which the project was separated into four trades: masonry, blacksmith, carpenter and demolition and concrete trade.
